Despite bringing an accordion, harmonica, banjo and Mandolin on stage, the Australian country act Jetty Road still threw a lot of pop into its show at WE Fest earlier today. Strong and confident female vocals by the group’s two easy-on-the-eyes lead female singers highlighted their sound. Those two front-women just happen to be twins. And the country group just happens to currently have the No. 1 song in Australia.
If you’re a country purist, this popish sound is probably not for you. Then again, a lot of modern country music isn’t for purists either. But if you like the pop-influenced sound that has become such a big part of country music in recent decades, this is good stuff.
